A driver of a load carrier was killed and conductor injured critically in a road mishap at Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday.
Reports said that the vehicle (JK09F-9840) skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Dutt Bridge in Keran today in the afternoon.
In the mishap, the driver Abdul Majeed Khan son of Sher Ali Khan and his assistant (conductor) Bashir Bajard son of Satar Bajard were injured critically, they said.
Both the injured were taken to SDH Keran where driver Majeed Khan succumbed to injuries, they said.
A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that a case under FIR number 12/2018 under section 279, 337, 304 A RPC has been registered in police station Keran. (GNS)
