Five-day national seminar begins at IUST

For enabling researchers to analyze the algorithms and assumptions for excelling in research, a 5-day National level faculty development (FDP) programme on “Research Trends in Information Technology” has begun at Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) on Tuesday.

The spokesman said the programme has been organized by the IUST’s Department of Computer Science, Department of Computer Science Engineering, in collaboration with Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) III.

The workshop is expected to cover key research areas in Computer Science with distinguished personalities from eminent institutions across the country. Addressing the gathering at the inaugural session, Professor Siddiqi lauded the idea of such programmes as they create dynamism for updating academia and research and said“IUST is continuously boosting various activities related to the promotion of research that is paving way for academic excellence in the state.

Siddiqi, a Chief Guest on the occasion also urged teachers and researchers to go back to the basics and build a strong foundation for pursuing quality research. “Best minds grasp a comprehensive theoretical knowledge of domain because that sprouts the best of ideas and you will be able to think out-of-box that eventually leads to innovations and discoveries,” he said.

The five-day programme began on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, and will conclude on Saturday, September 2, 2018.
