Multiple rounds of funeral prayers were held for the slain militant killed in Dalwach Qazigund area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday.
Reports said that thousands of the mourners from Dalwach, Khahgund, and its adjoining areas participated in the funeral procession of the slain militant. The slain militant has been identified as Mohammad Asif Malik, son of Mohammad Naseem Malik, a resident of Khahgund Dooru was affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit.
Malik was killed during a pre-dawn encounter between the militants and government forces. An army man was also killed in the encounter.
Meanwhile, Internet services in Islamabad have been suspended by the authorities for the “precautionary reasons.”
