Involved In Scams, Officers Still Working In JAKFED

Despite being involved in multi-crore JAKFED scam, three “tainted” officers are still working in the organisation according to the government.

The two officers namely Mushtaq Ahmed Mir and Bashir Ahmed are presently working in Srinagar Regional Office of JAKFED, while as the third officer M A Banday is on deputation to State government, this was disclosed on Saturday by the government.

JAKFED scam which involved embezzlement of Rs 300 crore rupees was detected by the House Committee of J&K Legislature which allegedly involved 21 employees of the organisation.

The employees include G L Abrol, SL Sharma, Shivdev Singh, Thakur Mohinder Singh, SK Sharma, MR Choudhary, Om Prakash, JD Dhar, SB Gandotra, Mushtaq Ahmed Mir, S Harcharan Singh, Bashir Ahmed Bhat, MA Bandey, RK Wali, Ab Rasid Shah, SM Andrabi, Nazir Ahmed Shah, Muzaffar Aizvi, Bashir Ahmed Thakur and Showkat Hussain.

Meanwhile, the government said that acting on the report of House Committee, the Chief Secretary on April 6, 2015 was approached to take further action after observing necessary legalities.

As per report of the General Administration Department (GAD), the House Committee report was forwarded to the Vigilance Organisation on 29 June, 2015 to find out similarities between House Committee and GAD report.

The Vigilance Organisation had recently intimated that there was similarity in respect of allegations.

The government further said “due action will be taken in due course of time”.
