J&K Police on Sunday said that the Sopore boy who succumbed early today was killed “as he had fallen from tree”.
A youth, identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Dar, resident of Sopore succumbed to his injuries early today at SKIMS Soura.
“He had fallen from tree on July 23, 2016 and was admitted in sub-district Hospital Sopore under MRD number 84626,” SP Sopore, Harmeet Singh Mehta, told Kashmir Life. “He was referred to SKIMS from Sopore hospital.”
However, sources in SKIMS Soura had told this newspaper that Ishfaq had suffered brain contusion “as he had beaten by forces on July 23”.
