The incarcerated Hurriyat Conference (g) Secretary General and chairperson of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Sunday appealed the bureaucrats “not to inflict any damage to the on-going freedom struggle and play positive role in this regard”.
Asking people to stand “like a solid wall” during the on-going movement, Shah said, “the day is not far when Kashmir will be resolved as per the wishes and aspirations of its people.”
In a statement issued to press this afternoon, Shah said that the need of the hour is to rise above the sectarian differences and “unite for a greater cause of freedom from Indian forcible rule”.
“The roads, Masjids, and shrines should be made centers of movement and that women should participate in the peaceful protests,” he said.
“To achieve Azadi, the sacrifice of lives and properties is inevitable and the only way to achieve our goal is to take the movement forward in a way prescribed by Allah Almighty,” he added.
Commenting on the “invaluable sacrifices of Mujahideen”, Shah said: “We are indebted to those mothers, sisters, and daughters whose loved ones laid down their lives for the freedom of the nation. We assure these sacrifices won’t go waste but will yield results very soon, Insha Allah.”
Expressing satisfaction regarding the “on-going freedom movement”, the DFP chairperson said the world is listening to our voice.
“There are worldwide protests against the Indian barbarism in Kashmir and support to our struggle for freedom. The world leadership and people should campaign against the Indian oppression and pressurise India to give the people of Jammu Kashmir their inalienable Right of Self Determination as Kashmir is the nuclear flashpoint,” he said.
Shabir Ahmad Shah also appealed the people of Pakistan and its rulers to adopt a stand on Kashmir and enhance efforts in their political, moral, and diplomatic support to their Kashmiri brethren.
“The Government of Pakistan must start a campaign on Kashmir through its embassies across the world,” Shah said.
