People hooted at Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti and raised pro-freedom slogans during her visit to Government College for Women Srinagar.
A large number of parents and family members were present in and outside Women’s College.
Earlier hundreds of candidates sitting for the common entrance test (CET) from all the ten districts reached Srinagar on Sunday morning.
The CET is being conducted by the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) of the state for admission to MBBS course to various colleges in the state.
BOPEE officials had already shifted many centres from old city areas of Srinagar city to safer uptown areas.
Mehbooba, according to news agency CNS, during her visit to Women’s College faced hostile people who were visibly annoyed over her presence and chanted pro-freedom slogans.
Mehbooba who was accompanied by top police brass left the place without interacting to reporters present outside the College.
Confirming the incident, a police official on condition of anonymity, said that some aggressive parents tried to come close to the CM, however, they were kept at bay.
