The rising level of Jhelum has set alarm bells ringing in Pampore town with flow of Jhelum marching into the town triggering panic in people.
As per the eye-witnesses, Jhelum has breached bund near Sempora. “Army and civilians are continuously trying to stop the flow, but the rising level of water is making the rescue operation ineffective,” the locals said.
Keeping the rising level of water in view, Entrepreneurship Development Institute in Sempore has been shut.
Meanwhile in Drangbal Pampore, where a major breach occurred in last year’s September flood has once again breached triggering a panic.
