Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani Sunday termed the statement of JK police chief K Rajendra in which he had said that Hurriyat (g) chairperson is free man, “lie and against the facts”.
Addressing Nazool-I-Quran Conference held at his residence-cum-office at Hyderpora, Geelani said, “When I was let free to go Passport Office, 5-6 police vans were following me and after that I was again put under house arrest.” “You can see the police van standing against the main gate of our residence.”
Talking to KNS, DGP had said “Geelani is a free man unless he disturbs the law and order situation. Geelani is free to offer Friday prayers but the only thing is that whenever he goes out from his residence for Prayers the stone pelting starts there. But I can say that he is free to offer prayers.”
“If I am free,” Geelani said referring to DGP’s statement, “I will offer prayers on coming Friday in South Kashmir’s Islamabad.”
