J&K Congress party Sunday condemned the police action on Kashmir University students on Thursday who were demanding release of their colleague.

Congress’ Media Secretary Salman Nizami, in a statement termed the “selective targeting” of students as “politically motivated”.

“It is shameful that university authorities have thrashed female students and forcibly thrown them out of hostels who were preparing for their exams,” he said.

Nizami according to the statement, “strongly opposed the targeting of Student community of state for political reasons at the behest of communal forces.”

While launching the scathing attack on the PDP-BJP government said that by indulging in anti people activities they are diverting the mind of people from the basic principles of development and their “fake tall claims” which turned “miserably flat”.

“Government of Jammu and Kashmir in a very gruesome manner is forcibly “torturing” the youths of state which is very unfortunate,” added Nizami. He further alleged that BJP and RSS in a well planned manner are trying to propagate their ideology in the private schools/institutions of state by sending their agents as teachers.

“Thereby hatching a conspiracy to disturb the communal harmony and peace,” he said. He cautioned the school authorities to “ensure a close check over the background of the candidates” before appointing them as teachers.

“As RSS is hell bent to its communal activities and is trying to barge into the peaceful atmosphere and wants to distort and mould the minds of children in a communal way. Students and parents should also be careful about the conspiracy being hatched by the communal elements,” he said.
