District Administration Poonch Tuesday provided ex-gratia relief of Rs 1.1 lakh to the Next of Kin (NoK) of 13-year old Shahnawaz Ahmed of village Dharati of Balakote Tehsil who succumbed to his injuries in Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu yesterday.
Shahnawaz, a class 7th student, who became victim of alleged Mortar Shelling from across the LoC, was undergoing treatment in GMC Jammu since August 15th.
On behalf of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Tehsildar Balakote and Tehsildar Mendhar handed over an amount of Rs 1.1 lakh to Iftikhar Ahmed, father of Shahnawaz Ahmed at Dharati in the morning.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Mohammad Harun Malik, Senior Superintendent of Police, J S Johar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shafiq Ahmed Choudhary and Sub Divisional Magistrate Mendhar, Thakur Sher Singh have condoled with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
