J&K Bank Conducts DLRC in Rajouri, Camps in Kupwara

J&K Bank conducted a District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting of Rajouri for the second quarter at Dak Bungalow in Rajouri, which was chaired by DDC Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Bhat. LDO from RBI Santosh Kumar, DDM NABARD Des Raj, Senior Officers from District Administration, Officers of line departments and bankers operating in the district also attended the meeting.

J&K Bank LDM Anoop Bhat briefed the house about the achievement of banks at the end of September Quarter of financial year 2015-16, a company statement said Tuesday evening.

He said that the deposits of the district rose from Rs 2093.81 Cr to Rs 2474.04 Cr registering a YoY growth of 18.15% while as advances grew from Rs 520.43 Cr to Rs 657.15 Cr registering a YoY growth of 26.27%.

Against the target of Rs 331.78 Cr Under priority sector lending, the banks achieved Rs 57.74 Cr out of which Rs 16.58 Cr was disbursed to agriculture sector, Rs 33.83 Cr to micro and small enterprise, Rs 0.35 Cr to deduction sector, Rs 1.78 Cr to housing sector and Rs 5.20 Cr to other sectors.

While reviewing the performance of Banks/ Agencies, DDC Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Bhat directed the banks and other agencies to improve CD Ratio by lending liberally and finding additional avenues for lending within the given situation and infrastructure.

He felt satisfied on successful implementation of EBT (Electronic Benefit Scheme) and advised the banks to make the scheme a success in the district.

He also stressed on the need to sanction and disburse KCC on priority basis to the farmer community of the district so that they could benefit from the scheme tailored for improving their livelihood.

The banks and government departments were also directed to organize awareness camps to popularize sponsored schemes so that youth of the area can take benefit of employment generation Programmes.

Meanwhile, the bank’s FLCC Kupwara organized an awareness cum trainings camp at ITI Handwara in collaboration with Lead District Office Kupwara, which was attended by scores of trainees and the teaching staff of the institute besides LDM and Head B.U Handwara.

 The facilitator welcomed the participants and apprised them about the basic concept of banking besides the procedures for opening of savings and other deposit accounts with the banks.

He also spoke about advantages of savings with and borrowings from the banks under various loan schemes.

The LDM apprised the audiences about the features of various deposit and loan schemes, various modes of remittances, Debit and Credit Card facilities and various government sponsored schemes in general and SKEWPY and MUDRA in particular for establishment of income and employment generating units.

The content for financial literacy was also uploaded in the lab of the institute for the ready reference of the students.

The Superintendent of the Institute, S Amandeep Singh, in particular and the other participants in general hailed the initiative of the bank for conducting such awareness camps.

Similar camps were also held earlier at Shogapora and Maidan pora besides two indoor camps at RSETI Salkoot.
