Police have solved three cases of burglary by arresting seven burglars and recovered stolen property worth Lakhs.
Following some reports of burglary incidents in Sopore and adjacent areas, a joint team from Police Station Sopore and Tarzoo was constituted under the supervision of SSP Sopore Abdul Qayoom and SDPO Sopore Mohammad Shafiq.
Owing to this, night patrolling and Nakas were intensified in Sopore Town and Tarzoo-Amargarh areas. During patrolling, a suspicious Sumo vehicle was found parked near Sopore Hospital boarded with two persons. They were questioned thoroughly, their movement and other activities were analyzed. On checking their call detail reports a gang of burglars was unearthed. Theft cases vide FIR Numbers 69/2015 of Police Station Dangiwacha, 70/2015 of Police Station Bomai and 139/2015 of Police Station Tarzoo were solved, a police statement said Wednesday evening.
The Police teams arrested seven burglars, identified as, Manzoor Ahmad Cheechi son of Mir Mohammad, Aijaz Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Majid, Ghulam Hassan Cheechi son of Naik Mohammad, Nazir Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Rasool Khan residents of Lar, Ganderbal, Ghulam Hassan Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat resident of Gund Jahangeer, Irshad Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Bhat resident of Tarzoo, Sopore, Aqib Ahmad Dar son of Bashir Ahmad Dar resident of Manz Seer, Sopore.
A huge quantity of stolen goods which included Woolen Clothes, Copper utensils, Mobile phones, Solar Lights, Batteries etc were recovered from these burglars on their instance.
Meanwhile in a bid to end her life, a lady consumed some poisonous substance at her home in Islamabad.
A lady (name withheld) resident of Ashmuqam, Islamabad consumed some poisonous substance at her home. She was shifted to District Hospital Islamabad for treatment.
The police statement said that a pedestrian was injured in a road accident.
In Budgam, a Maruti car bearing registration number JK01M-3375 hit and injured a pedestrian Ghulam Mohammad Mir resident of Kachwari near SDPO Office Khan Sahib. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. Budgam police has registered a case in this regard
