Hurriyat Conference (g) Jammu province head and Jammu Kashmir National Front chairperson, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Monday said that the “bloodshed and dialogue” can’t go together and Kashmiris do not “believe in talks for mere talks” but result oriented dialogue aimed at resolving the long pending Kashmir dispute.

Addressing a gathering at Chatpora Pulwama at the residence of Umais Ahmad Sheikh who was killed in an encounter with forces at Ajas Bandipora, some days back, Nayeem Khan paid glowing tributes to Umais and said “our martyrs” are rendering great sacrifices to achieve the birth ‘Right of Self Determination’.

“We are not against dialogue but firmly believe that if conducted sincerely, every problem and dispute can be resolved through dialogue,” Nayeem Khan said

He said that Kashmir issue is not any border dispute between two nuclear power neighbours but it is a question of 1.30 million people living across the bloody Control Line. “If the people of Kashmir are not taken into confidence the dialogue process can yield nothing.”

“We are not against better relations between New Delhi and Islamabad, but we believe in facts and the fact is that unless and until Kashmir dispute is resolved according to the wishes of Kashmiri people there can be no peace, no harmony and no stability, neither in India and Pakistan nor in the South Asian region,” Nayeem Khan said.

Meanwhile, Nayeem Khan strongly condemned the booking of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front chairperson, Mohammad Yasin Malik in “fabricated cases” and shifting him and his associates to central jail Srinagar.

Khan said that such tactics are not new to the resistance leadership and “we have time and again proved that arrests and incarcerations cannot deter us to raise our voices”.

He said, “by arresting Mohammad Yasin Malik and his associates, the so called government is in fact trying to please New Delhi so that its political power in safeguarded.”

In a statement issued here Nayeem Khan condoled Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Syeda Asiya Andrabi on the sad demise of her mother, Maryam Alvi.

He prayed for the deceased soul’s forgiveness and said that she has suffered a lot during the freedom struggle.

He said that late Maryam Alvi belonged to a family which has dedicated itself for the cause of Islam and freedom.
