PDP Sees 2016 as Year of ‘Hope, Reconciliation’

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will go into New Year with a reiterated resolve to raise Jammu & Kashmir state to “a zone of peace and flourishing opportunities for its people”.

Stating this, PDP General Secretary Nizamudin Bhat said, “the party has already put the system on rails under the visionary and experienced leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.”

“Indo- Pak relations have taken a favourable turn and the state’s political and economic scenario will drastically change in coming months,” he said.

He said that upcoming budget session which will be held first time in January will throw up a “practicable and meaningful financial arrangement” to make full use of huge amount of Rs 80,000 Crore available to state government for state’s prosperity agenda, a party statement said this evening.

“PDP under its dynamic leadership of party president Mehbooba Mufti will continue to facilitate a social change in the state through viable and efficient tools. The party will also do its best for creating job opportunities to educated and skilled youth, to generate an atmosphere of conducive, economic activity,” he added.

Party general secretary pointed out that the party patron and president both have charted out a “meaningful course” for party in the government in the recently held top level meeting of its ministers and leaders. “The work has already began on the agenda with a three pronged strategy to help build efficient and accountable administration under honest and dignified political system and establishing a vibrant economy through better use of available resource.”

Bhat said that party cadre continues to “display dedication and commitment to accomplish” the party agenda which besides other things “envisages a resolution of Kashmir issue and a harmonious social order”.

“Party leadership surmounted difficulties at various levels during the year passed by and handled coalition sensitivities with care. Party will continue to pursue honestly the agenda of peace and development to prove the adversaries wrong,” he said. “It is with this sincere objective that we seek people’s cooperation and support in building the state as a model and also wish people well and pray that the days ahead have everything possibly better for them in store.”
