A book titled – ‘The Pride OF Kashmir’ – throwing light on different aspects of life of Anwar Shah Kashmiri was released Tuesday at a function in Langate.
The function was organised by various cultural organisations including Kohsaar-e-Adab and Joi Adab Qazinaag and was attended by people hailing from different walks of life, a statement issued by Awami Ittihaad Party headed by Langate lawmaker, Er Rashid said this evening.
Speakers including renowned writer and poet Gh Nabi Inqalabi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Hafiz Masoodi, Manzoor Kirmani, Mohammad Shafi Baba, Prof Sunnauallah Sanayee, Faik Muqbool and Arshid Mohidin paid rich tributes to Anwar Shah Masoodi and congratulated author of the book Prof Nazir Qadiri for his hard work and sincere efforts in writing the book and bringing into light various aspects of Shah in public domain.
Speaking on the occasion Rashid appealed the audience to focus on improving educational skills among students.
He also announced renaming of ‘Student of the year award’ for district Kupwara to be named as ‘Moulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri Award for Excellence’ and similarly announced yearly awards to be given to the best students of Langate Constituency to be named after great poet, educationist and religious scholar Late Ali Mohammad Shahbaz.
Rashid also announced establishing of free coaching centres for poor and deserving 12th class students of his constituency during winter vacations, so that they get equal opportunities for qualifying in the competitive exams.
