G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs on Friday met Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at Raj Bhavan in Jammu.
An official spokesman in a statement said that the MoS and the Lt Governor discussed a range of issues pertaining to the internal security and law order management in J&K. They also had a discussion on the border management, administration of the Union Territory, management of Central Armed Police Forces, disaster management and implementation of several developmental projects and public welfare schemes in the UT.
Reddy also shared his views with the Lt Governor about the current security and developmental scenario in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He observed that the development of Jammu & Kashmir along with renewed growth prospects for the people and maintenance of security, peace and harmony in J&K is the foremost agenda of the Union Government and all necessary steps would be taken in this regard, he said.
Meanwhile, several delegations including All J&K Rehbar-e-Khel Teachers Forum, J&K Shiv Sena, Steel manufacturers, Un-employed Dental Surgeons Association J&K also called on Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan and apprised him about their concerning issues.
The delegation of All J&K Rehbar-e-Khel Teachers Forum led by Raja Shafiq Khan drew the Lt Governor’s attention towards the issues of the regularization and increase in the monthly remuneration of the Rehbar-e-Khel teachers.
The delegation of J&K Shiv Sena headed by its President Sh. Manish Sahni submitted a memorandum of demands to the Lt Governor pertaining to the reservation of local youths in Government jobs, stipend to educated unemployed youth of J&K, expansion of Rail Track towards Akhnoor-Rajouri- Poonch, grant of status of ‘Shaheed’ to the border villagers who died in cross border firing, incentives to the local Industries etc.
The delegation of Steel Manufacturers led by Rahul Bansal raised issues of the Steel Industrial Units in J&K and projected demands related to transport subsidy, turnover incentives, Power tariff, SGST/CGST/IGST refund etc.
The delegation of Un-employed Dental Surgeons Association J&K apprised the Lt Governor about the creation of posts of Dental Surgeons and other issues pertaining to the holistic up-gradation of the oral healthcare services in J&K.
The Lt Governor gave a patient hearing to the issues and demands projected by the members of the delegations and assured that all the genuine issues put forth by the delegations would be taken up for appropriate action after due examination.
Prof. (Dr) Ravindra Kumar Sinha, Vice-Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University also called on Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu.
Prof Sinha briefed the Lt Governor about the functioning of the University and the initiatives taken in recent times for the overall growth of the University. He also apprised the Lt Governor about various issues of academic and administrative importance.
The Lt Governor advised Prof. Sinha to maintain a sustained focus on enhancing University’s teaching standards and research capacities for developing the varsity into a centre of excellence.
