A militant was killed in an ongoing gunfight with the counter insurgent forces in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday, Police said.
In a statement on Twitter, police said that one militant was killed in a gunfight in Zantrag village of Khrew area of the district. “The operation is going on,” it said.
The gunfight broke out between the militants and the forces on Tuesday. In the initial gunfight, 26-year-old Sepoy Rahul Rainswal, who had joined the Army in 2013, and a Special Police Officer, Shezad Ahmed, were killed.
When last reports came in operation was going on in the area.
