Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Wednesday inaugurated a J&K Bank ATM at Shopian Mini-Secretariat.
Mufti hailed the role of J&K Bank in the economic development of state besides its commitment to extend world class banking facilities to the people.
The chief Minister hailed the bank particularly for prioritising the installation of ATM facility at mini-secretariat that he said, “will ease things for the employees at the mini-secretariat besides people of adjacent localities”, a company statement said this evening.
Meanwhile, J&K Bank conducted financial literacy and credit counselling camps in Baramulla and Shopian which were attended by a good gathering of people comprising the cross-sections of society.
Baramulla Camps
One such camp was organized by FLCC centre Baramulla in collaboration with the J&K Grameen Bank Business Unit Chandiloora at Village Mirchipora-Ratnipora, in Block Tangmarg.
Speaking on the occasion, Facilitator FLCC J&K Grameen Bank Bramulla Ghulam Qadir lone informed the audience about financial planning, budgeting, savings, advantages of savings with banks, concept of Business Correspondents, and different types of borrowing.
The facilitator explained in detail about the Prime Ministers Jhan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY) scheme which is meant for comprehensive coverage of all the financially excluded households in the country.
Present on the occasion, J&K Bank’s Facilitator FLCC Baramulla discussed various deposit and loan products of J&K Grameen Bank besides Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and requested the audience to enroll themselves through their saving bank accounts to receive benefits under these schemes.
Certain clarifications were sought by the audience regarding Jhan Dhan Yojna, PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY and various products of bank which were duly clarified by the speakers on spot.
The camp/seminar ended with a vote of thanks.
Similar camps were organized in the district at Mirgund in Singhpora and Bijihama in Boniyar.
Shopian Camp
Meanwhile, our Lead Bank Office Shopian organized a Mega Credit Camp regarding Prime Minister’s Mudra Yojna (PMMY) in collaboration with the local business unit besides SBI, PNB and other Banks of the district, at Town Hall Shopian.
The bank’s Zonal Head Kashmir (South) M Maqbool Lone was the Chief Guest at the camp attended by Assistant Commissioner Shopian Riyaz Ahmad and Chief planning Officer Shopian Imtiyaz Ahmad.
Various schemes PMJDY, PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY were thoroughly discussed during the camp.
On the occasion, 50 cases were sanctioned /disbursed on spot and forms to other desirous persons were distributed. Zonal Head along with other dignitaries distributed the bankers Cheques and sanction letters to the entrepreneurs on spot.
