SRINAGAR
The son of the slain Hurriyat leader (Abdul Gani Lone), Sajjad Lone is leading from the much-touted Handwara seat against National Conference’s seasoned leader Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan by 377 votes.
The Lone Jr who is eyeing on to make a debut in state assembly hogged headlines during elections because of his meeting with Narendra Modi.
Earlier, Lone had unsuccessfully contested the 2009 parliamentary elections and had reportedly fielded proxy candidate in 2002 assembly elections.
