Possibility Of New Govt; Bureaucrats And Higher Official On Tenterhooks

KL Report

SRINAGAR

With the suspense continues about the formation of new government in Jammu and Kashmir, the prospect is keeping bureaucrats and higher official on tenterhooks. They fear that with the change of guard, they will lose the plum postings which they occupy at the moment due to the patronage of the outgoing babus.

According to Kashmir News service (KNS) Jammu correspondent the Civil Secretariat is witnessing some interesting scenes these days. While the bureaucrats are busy to implement the directives of seniors, some IAS officers and higher officials who have patronage of the outgoing ministers, are a worried lot.

“Some senior officials at the Secretariat are busy discussing how new government will deal with them despite the fact that they are the darlings of the outgoing politicians. One believes that it will be major changes if a new alliance comes to power.

“It is more than apparent in the Secretariat that most government officials in position of authority misused the powers in the past. The politically motivated postings and transfers were routine work in the past five years,” sources said.

Meanwhile sources said that work in government offices across Jammu and Kashmir has been badly affected due to the suspense of the formation of government. “Officials are not in a mood to work in their offices as they only discuss who will form the next government.
