A fresh batch of 49 aspiring entrepreneurs including seven females Saturday passed out from Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) after completing three-week training programme, an Institute statement said on Saturday afternoon.
“The candidates were trained at the institute’s Pampore campus. The unemployed youth, who are all set to start their own business ventures now, were exposed to a comprehensive training course, Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) to equip them with what they need to start a profitable business,” the statement said.
The candidates trained were from varied educational background and have chosen manufacturing and services sectors as their lines of activity.
“They were exposed to a real-life business scenario through simulations. They also had interactions with successful entrepreneurs.
The participants who are motivated enough to start their entrepreneurial ventures shared their experiences on the valedictory.”
Mehrul Khan, an aspiring entrepreneur said, “Initially I wanted this training programme to be over as soon as possible. But with each passing day I felt how important it was for me to attend this three-week EDP. Now I wish this training to extend by some more days.”
The candidates have registered for the Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS) – a key component of the state government’s Sher-e-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for Youth (SKEWPY), and Youth Start-Up Loan Scheme (YSLS) being implemented by JKEDI, the statement informed.
“The institute from time to time offers a platform to entrepreneurs to enable them to set up their ventures through a host of services like consultancy, information, training, education and finance.”
