Counting in progress: Sagar trails in Khanyar by 85 votes, Gul ahead by 155 from Eidgah

SRINAGAR

Senior Natonal Conference leader and minister for Rural Development Ali Mohammad Sagar is trailing behind PDP’s Mohammad Khurshid Alam in Khanyar, the counting trends show.

Exit polls had predicted equal contest between NC’s seasoned politician and city face and PDP’s debut candidate Alam.

Sagar is undefeated from Khanyar since 1996.

In Eidgah assembly segment, the legislative assembly speaker Mubarak Gul is ahead with 155 votes. Gul has won the seat thrice since 1996 assembly elections.
