Agriculture employees protest against salary delay, non-regularization

Casual labours, need base workers and daily wagers associated with Agriculture department of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration in Srinagar demanding the release of pending wages and service regularization.

Scores of the employees chanting slogans demanded an intervention fo the authorities in releasing pending wages and regularization of their services.

“We have been working in the department from last two decades but our salaries were delayed from last three years,” said Mohd Yousuf Wani, the state president of Agriculture casual labours.

“We will not follow the biometric system in our offices until our salaries are not being paid on time,” Wani said, adding that they have been protesting from last three years but all in vain.

“Due to the delay, we are not able to pay the school fee of our children. There is a possibility that our children would be soon thrown out from their institutions,”  said another protesting employee.

The protesting employees including Sericulture, Horticulture and Tourism department also criticized the delaying of policies by the government. The employees appealed to the Governor administration to fulfil their long pending demands under SRO520 and release their pending wages on a monthly basis.
