Professor Shabir appointed as Director UGC-HRDC KU

Noted academic and Harvard trained Professor Shabir Ahmad takes over as Director UGC-HRDC University of Kashmir.

Prof Shabir has about thirty-four years of teaching, research and administrative experience to his credit. His area of specialization is Management and organizational behaviour and has taught several courses on Management, OB, organizational change, OD interventions, International Human Resource Management. A prolific writer who has extensively researched and written on Knowledge Management, Information and communication technology, Competitive Advantage, total quality management, Corporate Ethics, and has more than 70 research papers, articles, book reviews to his credit. His work has appeared in various reputed national and international journals and magazines.

Prof Shabir has authored  eight books entitled as“Executive development,” Business Studies,” “Potential of Insurance in Rural Sector: A Case Study of Jammu & Kashmir”, and “Management of Public Enterprises”, “Business Statistics,” Practical Problems in Business Statistics,”  “Business Mathematics and Statistics,”  and edited two books titled as “Islamic Banking and Finance and Understanding Islamic Banking and Finance.”

Prof Shabir has given presentations in more than twenty universities and research institutions worldwide and has attended number of advanced courses/workshops/seminars in various universities which include Harvard University, Eastern Washington University, Hagahelia University Finland, National University of Taiwan, Gonzaga University Washington, and consulted for some top companies and Govt, organizations.

He has been the Chief Editor of the faculty Journal ‘The Business Review’. He has held several academic and administrative positions such as Dean Faculty of commerce and management studies; Director, The Business School,  Director Center for Career Planning and Counseling, Director Directorate of Distance Education at the University.

Prof Shabir has received several awards for his outstanding contributions in academics, research and administration which include best teacher award in HRM, National Leadership award, and appreciation award for academia-Industry Interface. Currently, he is a member of various national and international academic associations, which include NAAC, UGC, AIMS, AMA United States of America, IMDA, AIMA, IIPA and ICFAI.
