A civilian was killed during clashes between protestors and government forces in Pinjoora village of Shopian district.
Reports said that as the gunfight rages in Pinjoora village, a civilian identified as Sajad Ahmad Parray, a resident of Baderhama received a bullet injury. Parray was soon taken to district hospital Shopian where he succumbed to his injuries.
Besides Parray, a civilian identified as Mohammad Shafi Malik also received a bullet injury, one girl has hit by pellets on her face and another youth was also received a bullet injury.
Earlier, in Pinjoora, the gunfight started after government forces laid a siege to the village following inputs about the presence of militants in the area, a joint team of forces including 44 RR launched search operation in the area. As the forces approached to spot, hiding militants fired upon forces an encounter.
