Civilian injured after army allegedly opens fire on protesters

Srinagar

A civilian was injured on Thursday evening after army allegedly opened fire on protestors in Kursa, the area of Kupwara district.

The protests broke out soon after the killings of two militants in Lolab area of Kupwara. An official said that a civilian identified as Mohd Jamal Tantrey, a Chowkidar of the village Krusan, recieved a bullet on his arm after army allegedly opened fire on protesters in the village.

Tantray was later referred to Srinagar hospital for the treatment.

Earlier, two militants were killed in an encounter at Khumriyal area of Lolab in Kupwara
