#Day26: Mysterious Death Of Chattabal Youth Triggers Protests

A youth has been killed in Old Srinagar and his dead body was found near SMHS hospital around 3 AM in the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

Police sources said that body of Irfan Ahmad Shah, 24, was found on roadside laying upside down near Syed Mansoor Sahib (RA) shrine.

Irfan was wearing Helmet and was riding a Scooty.

“It was an auto driver who saw the body first and he rushed towards SMHS wherefrom people came out,” sources said, “it were the local people who informed police and body was taken in to custody and brought to PCR.”

Irfan Ahmad Shah, a resident of Guzar Bal near Veer at Chattabal who was working as a guard at an ATM.

Local reports said that Irfan had left for duties when the incident happened.

“Irfan has wounds in abdomen and head,” sources said, “mystery still continues who has killed him.”

Irfan has wound in left side of abdomen.

The sources asserted it was not “any road accident as there was no damage done to the Scooty”.

As soon as the news of Irfan’s death reached his native place, people came out on roads and started protests. “Since dawn, people are out on roads waiting for the body,” a local from Chattabal said, “Azaadi songs and sloganeering is going on.”
