District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone Tuesday chaired a meeting of officers to review the pace of developmental activities being carried out in District Srinagar here today.
Chairing the meeting the District Development Commissioner directed the concerned for timely achieving the targets fixed for the current financial year, an official spokesperson said this evening.
Directing the concerned for ensuring hassle-free delivery of essential services to the people, District Development Commissioner also asked the executing agencies for ensuring timely completion of projects taken up under Health, R&B, Education and ERA.
He also directed the concerned for completion of estimation process of the various projects and schemes approved under special area development programme within the shortest possible time.
Discussing the issues regarding acquisition of land and structures under various road projects including Syed Meerak Shah Road, Circular Road Project and Khanyar-Pandch Road threadbare, the District Development Commissioner directed the concerned for expediting the land acquisition process.
He also reviewed the implementation of decisions of DD Board meeting and HCMs commitments were also reviewed.
Directing the SE PDD Department for making preparations for implementation of IPDS and Ujala Scheme, he also asked the Irrigation and Flood Control authorities for speeding up dredging of river Jhelum.
The meeting was attended by sectoral officers including Collectors, S.Es of PDD, R&B and PHE Department.
DC Kulgam Reviews Pace of Developmental Works
Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today chaired a meeting of the sectoral officers to review the progress of ongoing developmental works in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADC, CEO Aharbal Development Authority, DPO, CPO, ACR, ACD, CMO, CEO, Xens of R&B, PDD, PHE, I&FC and PMGSY, besides the district officers of Horticulture, Agriculture, Sericulture, Fisheries, Transport, Forest, Food, Labour, Employment and Industries departments.
Deputy Commissioner exhorted upon the executing agencies to expedite the execution of ongoing and new developmental works as limited working season is left.
He also directed the officers to get the tendering process completed in different sectors like ICDS, MDM, etc at the earliest.
Deputy Commissioner directed the ACD to finalise the works under convergence and get them approved at the earliest so that works shall be completed well in time.
The meeting was informed that out of Rs 123.64 crore approved outlay, Rs 21.55 crore has been expended by July, 2016.
Under R&B sector, 12 kms have been black-topped against the target of 24.58 kms under NABARD, while under state sector, 3 kms have been macadamized. Under PMGSY sector, 87 works have been completed out of the approved 96 works.
Under PHE sector, an expenditure of Rs 4.25 lakh has been made against the availability of Rs 38 lakh. During 2016-17, 6 works have been taken up under district sector and 7 works under National Rural Drinking Water Supply Scheme.
The meeting was informed that Rs 18.88 lakh have been released for upgradation of T&D system. In addition, the upgradation of Kulgam Grid Station from 40 MVA to 70 MVA is being done shortly.
For the year 2016-17, under MGNREGA, against the target of generation of 12 lakh man-days for Rs 36 crore, 1.34 lakh man-days have been generated by July, 2016. Under convergence, RDD is dovetailing with different departments- health, fisheries, education, soil conservation and social forestry.
In health sector, so far 284171 patients have been attended in OPDs while as 17777 in IPDs.
725 major surgeries and 2852 minor surgeries were conducted by ending August. Under JSSK, against the availability of Rs 30.08 lakh, Rs. 21.33 lakh have been expended under which 1506 expectant ladies were provided free healthcare facilities. Besides, 13 beneficiaries were covered under JSY so far.
It was informed that 41000 boxes amounting to 745 mt of pear and apple were exported to different parts of the country from Kulgam district.
DC Pulwama Reviews Eid-ul-Azha Arrangements
Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Muneer Ul Islam, today chaired an officers meeting to take stock of arrangements for upcoming auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
The review meeting was attended by the officers of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, PDD, PHE, R&B, Municipal Committee, Police, Revenue, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Health, Horticulture and Transport Department.
It was given out that sufficient stock of essential commodities of rice, sugar, kerosene oil and LPG is available in the sale centers of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the officers of PDD, PHE & Municipal Committee Pulwama to provide uninterrupted power and drinking water supply to the people besides ensuring cleanliness at the places of congregation on Eid days.
The onus of providing sacrificial animals and monitoring their prices was laid upon the District Officer for Sheep Husbandry.
Meanwhile, keeping in view the peak season of fruits, the Deputy Commissioner assured the fruit growers of district Pulwama that a transport facility will be put in place to ferry the fruits to different markets within or outside the state.
During the meeting a review of the ongoing developmental works in the district was also held and officers were directed to prepare the budget estimates for financial year 2017-18.
