#Day54: Law Secy For Proper Monitoring of Court Cases

Law Secretary

Directing the Law Officers for rigorously pursuing the cases pending in different courts of the, Secretary, Law, Abdul Majid Bhat asked the concerned for taking proper care to present the view point of the Government.

Chairing a meeting of officers of Law Department  convened here today to review the status of Court cases including Public Interest Litigations, Contempt Petitions and Online case status information system, the Secretary impressed upon the concerned to ensure that the cases pending in various Courts are rigorously pursued so that there are disposed of in time bound manner, an official spokesperson said Wednesday evening.

He said due care should also be taken for ensuring timely filling of objections with the consultation of the  concerned departments, saying the they should fill the statement of facts of various contempt so that proper projection of the Government’s view point is ensured.

The Law Secretary further asked the officers to work in close coordination with the NIC so that the online case status information system can be formulated which provide requisite information about the pendency of cases and their status.

He said that the same would also serve as a referral point to the administrative departments so that the concerned departments could provide requisite feedback about the particular case.

Special Secretary, Law Muzaffar Ahmed and other senior officers of the department and National Informatics Centre (NIC) were present in the meeting.
