Three militants were killed after a fierce gun battle in Nowgam sector of Kupwara district on Tuesday, official sources said.
Defence sources said that forces have foiled an infiltration bid in Nowgon sector of Kupwara district and gunned down three militants.
This comes on a day when the second phase of Assembly elections is on in 18 constituencies of the state including Kupwara.
The details are awaited.
