“Please help me and save me from the wrath of these stone-pelters. I want to get out of here,” these were the words of a CRPF jawan who called CNS on phone from South Kashmir’s Batagund hamlet of Shopian town.

The perplexed CRPF jawan said that angry youth have cornered their polling booth number 45 from all the sides and are targeting them with stones. “I am in hell and want to get out of here. I never thought the people would be so violent here and attack us with stones,” the caller said.

He said that he is new to place and he along with his colleagues are acting as mute spectators. “These stone-pelters damage few of our magazines and we are unable to take action against them,” he said adding that he is apprehensive of more attacks during late hours.

“Please save my number but don’t mention my name for the fear of reprisal,” he pleaded.
