Harassment of journalists is completely unacceptable: NC

National Conference Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani and Spokesman Junaid Azim Mattu have condemned in the strongest words reports of physical assault on a journalist in Bandipora today.

According to a statement issued to KNS, stating that National Conference has demanded an inquiry into this incident and expects swift justice, NC Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani has said that intimidation or any kind of harassment of journalists is completely unacceptable. Nasir Aslam Wani has said that the party has appealed to the authorities to take the most serious cognizance of this issue and initiate action against those found guilty.

Meanwhile, National Conference Spokesman Junaid Azim Mattu visited the Times Now Office in Srinagar and conveyed the party leadership’s condemnation of this incident and assured the journalists that National Conference has demanded a thorough investigation into this matter. Junaid Mattu said that journalists form an integral part of a vibrant society and such incidents should be unequivocally condemned by all quarters.
