Gunfight broke out between militants and the government forces in Rajpora village in Tral area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.
Reports said that a joint team of army’s 42 RR, 178 CRPF, and SOG cordoned off Rajpora following inputs about the presence of militants.
They said the militants opened fire after the cordon was tightened. The forces retaliated, leading to a gunfight.
Intermittent exchange of fire was on when this report was being filed.
