SRINAGAR: At least 20 people were injured on Monday evening after unknown men believed to be militants hurled a grenade at a bus stand near a busy market in Sopore town of Baramulla district in north Kashmir, media reports claimed.
Media reports suggest that among the twenty injured persons, six people have sustained serious injuries who were subsequently referred to Srinagar hospital. The others are undergoing treatment at a local hospital in the area.
Soon after the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched an operation to nab the attackers.
Earlier, on the evening of October 27, a grenade was lobbed at a market in Srinagar, injuring six people. The militants hurled a grenade in Karan Nagar area of the city. Last Saturday, fourteen people were injured when suspected militants had hurled a grenade outside the deputy commissioner’s office in south Kashmir’s Anantnag on Saturday morning.
