DDC Anantnag visits Kokernag, takes stock of developmental works

SRINAGAR: The District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir today visited Kokernag Sub division to take stock of various developmental works.

The spokesman said that CEO KDA, Exen R&B Vailo, Exen PHE Bijbehara, ACD, CMO, SDM Kokernag, Tehsildar Kokernag, BMO Kokernag, BDOs of Kokernag, Larnu and Sagam blocks accompanied the DDC.

The DDC directed the CEO KDA to ensure development of the Kokernag in order to make it more attractive for the tourists. He stressed for completion of the construction of STP with in a stipulated time.

The DDC also visited SDH Kokernag and enquired about various facilities being provided to the patients. He directed CMO Anantnag to ensure all the facilities to the patients at SDH Kokernag.

During the visit, he also interacted with general public who put forth their grievances; the DDC gave the patient hearing and assured timely redressal of all their grievances.

Meanwhile, District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir chaired a meeting to review implementation of various schemes under health sector.

Programme Officer ICDS, CDPOs, CMO, BMOs, Medical Superintendent MMAB District Hospital Anantnag, Medical Superintendent MCCH Anantnag and other concerned attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed the implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes including ‘Beti Bachav Beti Padav Yojana, ‘Poshan Abhiyan’, and ‘Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandhana Yojna.’

The meeting was informed that against the target of 26438 Village Health Nutrition Days (VHNDs) 6909 VHNDs have been conducted, while as same number of health check-ups have also been done.

The meeting was informed that under ‘Beti Bachav Beti Padav’ scheme, 9511 cases have been sanctioned while as 3445 cases are under process. The DDC stressed upon the officers of ICDS and Health Department to work in close coordination and added synergy for the better implementation of welfare schemes.

He also directed for conducting regular workshops at block level for the mass awareness regarding various health issues with emphasis on preventive measures.

The DDC also stressed on educating the women folk on maintaining proper hygiene and diet habits. He enjoined upon the concerned to educate the people about consequences of declining sex ratio. He added that stern action will be taken against the centres found involved in illegal sex determination.
