SRINAGAR: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr. G N Itoo inspected various examination centres setup by the Board of School Education (BOSE) for 10th class which commenced today.
Chief Education Officer G M Lone and other concerned officers also accompanied the Deputy Commissioner, the spokesman said.
DC visited examination centres established in GHSS for Boys Baramulla, GHSS for Girls Baramulla, St. Joseph Higher Secondary School Baramulla and various other examination centres, where he took stock of various facilities including lighting and sanitation.
He also interacted with the students and enquired about the same during which they expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion, DC directed the concerned authorities to ensure availability of basic amenities for the students. He directed to ensure the conduct of exams in a fair and transparent manner besides stressing for creating conducive environment for the students. Moreover, he informed that over 10,000 students are appearing in the 10th class examination for which 99 centres have been established.
Pertinent to mention that district administration had made special transport arrangements for the students wherein SRTC buses plied on some designated routes so that students can reach their centres conveniently. Authorities have also imposed restrictions under section 144 Cr.P.C for maintaining tranquillity and peace in and around the examination centres.
