Relief provided to cross border firing victims

Srinagar: Financial assistance of ten thousand each was today provided by district administration Kathua to four victim families of cross border firing, here at village Manyari of Tehsil Hiranagar.

The assistance was provided to the beneficiaries by the Deputy Commissioner, O P Bhagat out of the District Red Cross fund.

Meanwhile, the DDC directed Revenue and Veterinary Department to conduct a survey in the area and prepare a detailed report of losses due to cross border firing so that compensation can be provided to the affected families at the earliest. He also directed the concerned authorities to expedite the construction of remaining bunkers.

The DDC also directed the civil and the police administration to stay alert so that damages to life and property can be minimized.

The relief was provided to Said Ali son of Faqir Gujjar, Makhan Din son of Jamm Gujjar, Sham Lal son of Tara Chand, Yash Paul son of Chuni Lal- all residents of village Manyari of Tehsil Hiranagar.

Tent for accommodation and utensils were also provided to the affected families on the spot.

SSP, Shridhar Patil, CO BSF, Satyendra Giri, SDM Hiranagar, Suresh Kumar and other concerned were present on the occasion.
