SRINAGAR: District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Hashmat Ali Khan chaired a meeting with the district officers to review the progress on various developmental projects in the district.
The meeting was attended by Executive Engineers of PHE, PDD and SDA, Principal Government Degree College Kangan, CMO, Heads of Several Departments and other concerned.
On the occasion, the DDC was briefed by the concerned officers about progress on the implementation of various developmental works under different sectors. He was also briefed about physical and financial achievements made under different schemes and flagship programmes.
DDC also sought the physical as well as financial progress from the concerned executing departments of all the languishing projects in the district besides progress on several development works identified during Back to Village Programme.
DDC impressed upon the officers to speed up the pace of work on these projects and stressed for regular monitoring of works to meet the targets and to set timelines for the completion of vital projects in the district.
The DDC also reviewed the action plan regarding winter preparedness and snow clearance arrangements during the winter in the district.
During the meeting threadbare discussion was held on several arrangements including availability of dewatering pumps, activation of joint control room, snow clearing machines, buffer stock of transformers, etc.
The DDC directed the concerned authorities to activate the joint control rooms and equip them with adequate manpower to combat any eventuality including snow clearance during the harsh winter months.
The DDC impressed upon the concerned to remain available to people for timely redressal of public grievances and asked them not to leave their Headquarters for better coordination in dealing with snow clearance operations in coming winter season and the essential services like water, power and health are delivered to the indigents well on time.
