SRINAGAR: Amid the war-like situation, that prevails across Kashmir, which led to temporary suspension of air services, a hotel in Srinagar locality is offering free accommodation and food for every tourist stranded in Srinagar.

Hotel The Kaisar, in Jawahar Nagar Srinagar

Situated in Jawahar Nagar locality of the city, Hotel The Kaisar has decided to offer the basic accommodation and food to “tourists from any state (who) can come and stay with us for free till the situation gets normal,” the owner of the hotel Sheikh Kaisar told this reporter.

Pertinently, the Kashmir valley is witnessing a complete shutdown following the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) strike call against the mass arrests, NIA raids and attempts to tinker with the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

Kaisar said that he has actually witnessed the same incident earlier when he was stuck in a foreign country and he had no money to travel back to his destination.

“Long back, when I was travelling back from Paris to London, I didn’t have money, interestingly some strangers in Paris helped me and provided me with the full accommodation including food,” Kaisar said.

“That is what led me to do the same with the people from outside valley because I know what it feels like,” he added.

Now the owner of the hotel Kaisar is offering free accommodation to everybody whosoever is not able to fly back to home.

It is pertinent to mention, the air service in Jammu and Kashmir was suspended following the airspace incursions by Pakistan Air Forces (PAF) on Wednesday morning. Almost seven airports were closed. Later in the afternoon, the advisory was withdrawn and the civilian traffic was permitted to resume.

Meanwhile, the Chaya Group of Hotels have also decided to provide free accommodation to the tourists in our Srinagar.  According to reports, the hotel management has appealed the tourists to approach the hotel management in case they are running out of the money.
