Pak jets violate airspace in Rajouri amid shelling, minor girl injured

Amid cross-border shelling, a Pakistani Fighter Jet on Wednesday allegedly violated the airspace along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

An official said that at least three to four jets violated the airspace near Bimber Gali in Nowshera sector. The official said the jets hovered for some time and returned back after Indian Army uses small arms in the area.

Meanwhile, a minor girl namely Areeba Kounsar daughter of Mohd Kabeer of Dheri Layote in Manjakote of Rajouri suffered injuries after some shells landed in the residential areas.

SHO Manjakote, Barkat Qureshi said that the girl suffered serious wounds in the shelling and said that she has been taken to military hospital for treatment.

When reports last came in, the intermittent cross border shelling was going on in Manjakote, Nowshera, Balakote and Akhnoor. (GNS)
