Bandipora-Gurez road has been closed for traffic following a fresh snowfall in the area.
Reports said that the 86-km Bandipora-Gurez road has been closed after fresh snowfall in Gurez, Tragbal and Razdan Pass.
An official said that keeping in view slippery conditions and fresh snowfall, the Bandipora-Gurez road has been closed as a precautionary measure.
Taking to social networking site Twitter, DC Bandipora Shahid Choudhary wrote: “Snowfall. 8-10″. Gurez road closed. 3 machines deployed for clearance. Essential services reviewed for district.”

“Early morning Snow Clearance at Chorwan / Dawar , Gurez,” he tweeted.
In another tweet he said that in view of continuous snowfall and for safety of vehicles/passengers we will be closing Sumbal-Bandipora stretch of road for few hours.
