Reports said that shelling was started from Pakistan side as Pakistani Rangers targeted forward posts along the IB in Samba Kashmir with small arms, however, the presence of BSF troops guarding the borderline retaliated by firing toward the opposite posts.

Reports also said that the exchange of fire from both the sides lasted for hours. However, there were no immediate reports of any causality form either side.
