Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a bootlegger during a naka checking at check post Verinag and recovered illicit liquor from his possession.

A police spokesman in a statement said that a police party headed by DO Verinag intercepted a suspected person during a naka checking at check post Verinag.
“During the search, bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the possession of Sadiq Shaksaaz son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Verinag,” said the spokesman.
He said a case has been registered under relevant sections of law and initiated investigations in the matter.
