Two CRPF men, five civilians injured in grenade attack: Police

Srinagar

Police on Thursday issued the following statement regarding grenade attack in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district saying that militants hurled a grenade on security forces at Sherbagh Chowk in Anantnag town.

A police spokesperson in a statement said that militants today hurled a grenade on security forces at Sherbagh Chowk in Anantnag district which resulted in injuries to five civilians including 3 women, and two CRPF jawans.

“The injured who have been identified as Rehana Begum, Sobiya Jan, Naza Begum, all three residents of Anchidora, Irfan Dar resident of Lal Chowk Anantnag, Mohd Hussain resident of Sofipora and two CRPF jawans have been shifted to the hospital for the treatment of their injuries,” said the spokesman.

“Police have registered a case in this regard and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of the incident,” he said.
