Jama’at condemns killing of Pulwama youth

Srinagar

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir on Monday condemned the killing of youth in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district during the cordon and search operation in several villages of the district.

The spokesman in a statement said that peaceful protesters were indiscriminately fired upon by these government forces resulting in the death of a 22 year old Fayaz Ahmad Wani, son of Mohammad Ahsan Wani, a resident of Chewa Kalan and grievous injuries to many others out of whom some have been admitted in different hospitals in critical conditions.

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir while strongly condemning this act expresses its anguish over the meaningful silence of the world community and impresses upon the international and local human rights organizations to take concrete and effective cognizance of these worst human rights violations instead of issuing mere statements which have utterly failed to contain these violations.

Jama’at also appeals Organization of Islamic Countries to come forward for the safeguard of lacs of Kashmiris.
