Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers during a naka checking and recovered codeine phosphate from their possession.
A spokesperson in a statement said: “During Naka Checking at Wangipora Bala in the jurisdiction of Police Station Sumbal, a Maruti car bearing registration number DL8CK/8014 was intercepted. On checking, 35 bottles of codeine phosphate was recovered from the possession of Farooq Ahmad Parray son of Ghulam Qadir and Tariq Ahmad Dar son of Habib-ul-lah, both residents of Wangipora.”
“Bandipora police has registered a case FIR number 98/2018 under section 8/21 NDPS and investigation has been taken up,” the spokesman said.
