In Old City, Abu Zar Trust Distributes Cheques Amongst Students

Abu Zar (RA) Trust

Abu Zar (RA) Charitable Trust, a social organization run by senior citizens of Srinagar Tuesday distributed cheques among needy students in Rainawari area of Srinagar.

At a function held at Government Boys High School (Hari Singh), Rainawari, 41 students were given cheques while senior citizens of the city graced the occasion. The students included those from Government Boys High School, Nowhatta and Government Boys High School, Rainawari.

“Begin Self, Begin Small,” is our motto said Riyaz Ahmad Bhat while moderating the function. “We don’t want to go for big donations but we have a silver line to start from ourselves and however less or however much we can give,” he said. Bhat is President of the Trust.

Chief Guest on the occasion, Prof Ab Rashid (Rtd Dean KU) asked students to give-in their best and prosper in their lives.

“You are the best amongst the lot; financial hurdles should not be a hurdle in your path to excellence,” he asserted. He lauded the role of Abu Zar (RA) Charitable Trust in taking such an endeavor.

Former Assistant General Manager J&K Bank, Mushtaq Ahmad Hamdani said, “Education inculcates belongingness and inner light of human opens up,” he said. Hamdani was Guest of Honor at the occasion.

Patron of Abu Zar (RA) Charitable Trust, Altaf Muntazir announced on the occasion that the Trust shall support education of those needy students who pass with good results in the senior secondary examination.

“I assure Principal Madam, Faculty and senior citizens present on the occasion that this Trust shall not stop working; it will be a routine affair in the area.

While giving vote of thanks, Principal of the School, Nighat Ara said, “our students have made us proud from time to time.”

She thanked the Trust members and said that such programs shall continue in the future.
