While expressing deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives and property caused by a disastrous earthquake in Nepal and eastern India, Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani expressed his sympathy with the affected families.
According to spokesman, Geelani also expressed his concern and anguish about the safety of those Kashmiris who are in Nepal and are missing.
“Nepal is comparatively a small and poor country and the destruction caused there have shaken our hearts. We are ourselves a subjugated and a resource less nation and we can easily understand the pain of others,” he said.
“We can’t practically do anything for the people of Nepal but our best wishes and prayers are with them and we are desirous of quick rehabilitation of this country,” he added.
Geelani according to statement also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives in some of the states of India and said that we although are fighting against the Indian occupation in Jammu & Kashmir but we have no enmity with the people of India and being human beings, they are our brothers.
“We equally share the grief of the families who have lost their loved ones in this disastrous earthquake in some states of India,” he said.
