Div Com pays obeisance at Dastageer Sahib (RA) Shrine, reviews arrangements

The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today visited Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) shrine at Khanyar and paid obeisance.

He inspected arrangements put in place for the observance of Urs-i-Sharief of Hazrat Dastegeer Sahib (RA).

The Divisional Commissioner directed Srinagar Municipal Corporation to ensure that sufficient Safai Karamcharies are deployed for sanitation during the Urs days.

PHE Department was directed to make arrangements for uninterrupted drinking water supply, besides providing Water Tanker service at the shrine.

He directed the PDD to ensure un-interrupted Power supply during the Urs days. Besides, keeping a generator sets available at the shrine to meet any exigency. He also directed the concerned to ensure that all high-mast and defunct street lights are functional before the commencement of the Urs.

He directed the traffic authorities to formulate route plans en-route to the Khanyar shrine. Besides identifying parking slots.

He also directed the SRTC to ply adequate number of buses towards the Khanyar shrine from various destinations during the Urus days.

Fire and emergency services was asked to ensure availability of fire tenders at the shrine besides getting hydrants audited.

Health authorities were directed to set up medical camp besides deploying an ambulance at the shrine for convenience of devotees.

The Div Com was informed that the J&K Muslim Wakf Board has made necessary arrangements in and around the shrines within their judication which include installation of public information system and daily cleanliness drive in the shrine premises.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal, Additional Commissioner Kashmir Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Chief Engineer Power, RTO Kashmir, GM JKSRTC, Secretary J&K Muslim Wakf Board, Joint Commissioner SMC, Joint Director Fire & Emergency Services, Superintending Engineer PHE, Deputy Director Health Services and other concerned officers accompanied the Divisional Commissioner.
